The regulation on making changes in the regulation on the principles of transferring between associate degree and undergraduate programs in higher education institutions, double major, minor and inter-institutional credit transfer was published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette.
A regulation has been made in the provision regulating the horizontal transfer from a university established abroad to the programs of higher education institutions in Turkey, which require success ranking.
Accordingly, in the year the student starts his/her higher education, the ranking institutions of the university he/she is enrolled in are ranked among the top 400 in at least three of the ranking institutions Times Higher Education (THE), QS World University Rankings, Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), CWTS Leiden Ranking world university rankings. It will be required to take place in the class and meet the relevant term, class and achievement requirements.
New provision for double major and minor education
In the new regulation, new provisions regarding double major and minor programs were also included. In this context, students enrolled in the diploma programs determined by YÖK will be able to do double major and minor programs in the programs to be determined by YÖK, if they make a request to their universities.
The required “grade point average” constraint will not be applied in the education and training of double major and minor programs between these programs. The application will start to be implemented as of 2023 YKS.
While choosing the program, students will be able to see the explanation about this subject in the conditions of the program.
