The first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, which started on September 12, 2022, ended on January 20.
The Ministry of National Education (MEB) expanded the scope of the summer school it organized last year, and organized free courses during the semester break for the first time this year. Free courses, including fun and innovative learning approaches, were opened during the semester break in the fields of “science”, “art”, “mathematics” and “English”. Students and teachers benefited from the courses opened in their provinces.
About 19 million students studying in primary and secondary education institutions will start going back to school tomorrow after a two-week semester break.
Students will have their second break on April 17-20, 2023, and the academic term will end on June 16, 2023.
With the start of the second semester, free meals will be gradually introduced for 5 million students.
