Atatürk Culture, Language and History High Institution President Prof. Dr. Derya Örs visited the History Institute of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences in Tashkent, where she came with her delegation.
Here, Institute Director Prof.Dr. Örs met with Azamat Ziya, Tashkent Ambassador Olgan Bekar and President of the Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen also accompanied him. During the meeting, cooperation between the historical institutions of the two countries was discussed.
After the meeting, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Turkish Historical Society and the Uzbekistan History Institute. Yüksel Özgen and Azamat Ziya signed the document.
In his speech here, Örs noted that they wanted to further develop their cooperation with their colleagues in Uzbekistan, one of the important centers of Turkish history, and emphasized the importance of signing the cooperation protocol between the Turkish Historical Society and the Uzbekistan History Institute in this context.
Özgen reminded that they had previously cooperated with their Uzbek colleagues and carried out joint activities, and stated that the protocol would create an important infrastructure for sharing the knowledge and experience of the Turkish Historical Society with their Uzbek colleagues and further developing their cooperation.
Azamat Ziya also stated that the purpose of the cooperation protocol they signed with the Turkish Historical Society is to further strengthen the scientific relations between the two institutions, to create common plans for the future development of historical science, to collaborate to study the common history of the Turkish people together and to spread it to the world.
Ziya noted that they will create a road map regarding the development of cooperation between the parties within the scope of the signed protocol, and added that this road map also includes items such as conducting joint research in the field of history and supporting young scientists.
