According to the statement made by YÖK, Özvar conveyed his wish for universities to help and guide students’ accommodation needs in the message he sent to all university rectors.
“I would like you to help our new students with accommodation”
Reminding that the registration procedures of the candidates placed in universities according to the results of the 2023 Higher Education Institutions Exam will end today, Özvar said:
“Especially in the last period, there are reports that FETÖ, PKK and other terrorist organizations, which aim to recruit higher education students, can take action by using the needs of students in terms of accommodation and try to gather our youth around them under the name of ‘student houses’.
In particular, we consider it as an extremely important issue that you help our students who will start their education and training, provide them with accommodation, guide them, provide necessary warnings and advice, and if possible, respond to the needs of our students through the ‘support units’ that you will establish within your university. I would like to ask you to be in constant communication and cooperation with the relevant institutions in your city on this matter.”
