After the summer vacation of about 3 months, a school adaptation program was carried out for pre-school, primary school 1st and high school 9th grades before the new academic year to start on September 11 for all classes and levels.
Within the scope of the 2023-2024 academic year preparations, in which approximately 20 million students and more than 1 million teachers will start the lesson, the Ministry of National Education delivered free textbooks as well as auxiliary resources to the students.
Guidance practices for secondary schools will be on 11-15 September
Guidance practices, which will be attended by students and their families who will start the 5th grade of secondary school, will be held on September 11-15.
The presentation of the school adaptation guide for parents will be held on Monday, September 11, on the second day, the family and children will be introduced to the internal and external environment of the school, and on the remaining three days, activities will be held with children regarding guidance practices.
The first midterm break is on November 13
The first break of the 2023-2024 academic year will be held on 13-17 November 2023.
There will be a semester break for students on January 22-February 2, 2024, and a second semester break on April 8-12, 2024. The academic year will end on June 14, 2024.

2022-2023 in public and private schools in Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa provinces, which were determined as disaster area provinces due to the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023 and affected 11 provinces. The program to be prepared by the Ministry in order to eliminate learning losses for the second semester of the academic year will be implemented together with educational activities between 11 September and 6 October.
