The students, who were separated from their schools for a while due to the earthquakes, came to their schools in the company of their parents.
Making a statement, Iskenderun District Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek said that they are happy with the resumption of education.
“It was our goal to start the class”
Pointing out that the earthquake also affected education, Demiryürek said:
“We will continue on our way by associating healthy schools with heavily damaged schools. It was our goal for students to start classes so that life can return to normalcy as soon as possible. We see that 20 thousand of 60 thousand students are enrolled. This also leads to a decrease in the population of the city. It is time to take a moment to eliminate this. We gave importance to starting classes first and opening sound classrooms.”
Demiryürek said that 17 private schools and 4 rehabilitation centers have also been opened in the district.
Buğlem Serra Dumlu said that she loves her school and teachers very much and wished that her school would not be closed again.
In Hatay, education started on March 27 in the districts of Reyhanlı, Arsuz, Dörtyol, Erzin, Payas, Altınözü and Yayladağı.
