In the written statement made by YÖK, it was stated that some intermediary education consultancy institutions made announcements that the graduates of the universities they claim to be recognized by YÖK would be granted equivalence in any case, and that some universities used expressions such as “university without exam” and “unconditional equivalence after graduation” in their promotions.
In the statement, it was stated that necessary legal actions have been initiated regarding misleading and false content.
President of YÖK Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, in his evaluation on the subject, stated that the promise of diploma without examination or distance education, especially for departments such as medicine, law, pharmacy, engineering, is not equivalent, and said, “Such fake content results in not getting any education, not getting an education of the alleged quality or not having an equivalent diploma program. can give birth,” he said.
Higher education institutions recognized by YÖK are learned from e-Government.
Pointing out that students should check whether the higher education institution they plan to study at is recognized by YÖK, Özvar said:
“Students who want to study abroad can see the higher education institutions recognized by our Board on e-Government. “Our students should definitely confirm the higher education institutions they cannot find in e-Government by asking our Board. On the other hand, students can find answers to their questions about the subject by contacting the call center of the Higher Education Council on the phone number ‘0850 470 09 65’.”
