YÖK launches International Researcher Projects

The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) will be encouraged to conduct research at universities that have been in the top 700 in the world university rankings in the last 3 years, with International Researcher Projects.

100 quotas are reserved for those who want to carry out their post-doctoral studies abroad. Priority areas for postdoctoral research were identified as physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics.


20 thousand lira support will be provided per month

The research assistants and doctoral faculty members who will benefit from the project will be assigned abroad for a maximum of 9 months for post-doctoral work. In this context, YÖK will provide monthly support of 20 thousand liras to those who will be sent abroad, and will also provide transportation support of 10 thousand liras.

The following conditions are sought for candidates who want to take advantage of this right, the application dates and details of which will be announced later by YÖK:


“To be a Turkish citizen and still working as a research assistant or doctor lecturer who has completed his doctorate in a state higher education institution. To have received his doctorate degree in the last 3 years as of the date of application. To certify the language test result showing that he/she has obtained at least 80 points from an international foreign language exam whose equivalence is accepted, from the language in which the study will be conducted. Receiving an invitation letter for a maximum of 9 months from one of the top 700 universities in the last 3 years in the world university rankings made by Universities (Shanghai) and World University Rankings (QS).
