In its meeting held yesterday, the Higher Education Executive Board (YSK) decided to hold the end-of-term exams at universities after June 1, 2023, taking into account the effects of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes throughout the country so that students do not experience victimization.
The said decision was conveyed to the universities today:
“The effects of the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş in our country, the housing conditions of our citizens and students affected by the earthquake, social conditions and sustainable education processes were evaluated and the issue of not starting the end of the 2022-2023 academic year spring semester exams before June 1, 2023 was examined at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting on May 17, 2023. and 2022-2023 academic year end-of-term exams will be held after June 1, 2023.”
On the other hand, YÖK supported the decision of universities in many cities, especially in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir, to conduct the exams for face-to-face education programs face-to-face, and for online exams for online education programs.
